The ratio of deaths of medical personnel and health workers in Indonesia is among the highest compared to other countries. There were 1.36% of Indonesian health worker deaths due to COVID-19 (101 people) compared to the total confirmed deaths of COVID-19 on August 31, 2020 (7417 people)

The number of doctors in Indonesia is also the second lowest in Southeast Asia, at 0.4 doctors per 1,000 population. This means that Indonesia only has 4 doctors serving its 10,000 residents. The ratio of nurses per 1,000 population is 2.1 which means that two people serve 1,000 residents in Indonesia. The ratio of specialist doctors is also low, at 0.13% per 1,000 population.

According to protect to protect health workers and for the protection of patients, the application of swab tests periodically is needed for patient safety in the hospital.
